ABOUT NICOLE
Nicole Forster is a graduate practicum student who is completing her master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She practices under the supervision of Amy Pezzotti, LPC-S, RPT-S.
Nicole believes that therapy should be a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. She takes a collaborative approach, recognizing that each person brings their own experiences, strengths, and understanding of what they need.
Her approach draws from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Gestalt Therapy. This means she may help clients better understand their thoughts and behaviors, develop practical coping strategies, and become more aware of their emotions and experiences in the present moment. Nicole works collaboratively with each client to find an approach that feels comfortable, meaningful, and helpful.
When working with children, Nicole primarily uses play therapy. Play provides children with a natural and developmentally appropriate way to express themselves, process emotions, build coping skills, and work through challenges.
Nicole works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. She specializes in working with individuals on the autism spectrum and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and communication style. She works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and other challenges that may affect their emotional well-being and relationships.
Nicole strives to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves, exploring their experiences, and working toward meaningful
Nicole offers counseling at a discounted intern rate ($50 with sliding scale available) and currently has weekend and evening appointment availability.
